LAS CRUCES - The Mayfield High School AFJROTC plans to honor area POWs with a special tribute and dinner, 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the American Legion Hall, 1185 E. Madrid Ave.

The group is asking area POWs to contact them through booster club vice president Yoli Diaz at (575) 649-0598 if they would like to be included as a guest.

"We are also inviting veterans and are searching for POWs so that they may also attend our special tribute," Diaz said.

"It will be a such a great honor to have our cadets, who are all between the ages of 14 to 17 years old, participate in such a humble and beautiful tribute in the presence of our honored guests," Diaz said. "We will also have someone playing 'Amazing Grace' on the bagpipes."
