LAS CRUCES - Absentee voting starts today for the Feb. 1 Las Cruces school board election.

Two candidates are running unopposed for re-election. Connie Phillips of District 5 and Bonnie Votaw, who represents District 4, are on the ballot. Each was elected in 2007.

Absentee voting will continue through Jan. 28 at the county clerk's office in the Doña Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd. Only voters in Districts 4 and 5 will be eligible to cast ballots in the election.
