LAS CRUCES - Police are investigating a possible arson Wednesday night at the American Legion Hall.

Las Cruces Fire Department crews responded to the fire, at 1185 E. Madrid Ave., at about 9 p.m.

"Preliminary information appears to show that the fire was intentionally set," Las Cruces Police Department spokesman Dan Trujillo confirmed Thursday afternoon.

No other information on the fire - including the amount of damages - was available. The incident remains under investigation.
