A new high school is under construction at Sonoma Ranch Boulevard near Dripping Springs Road and is scheduled to be substantially complete by late spring of 2012. The 72-acre, 344,000 square-feet of structure will house an estimated 2,000 students from ninth to 12th grade, said Project Manager Tiffani Lucero. The students should be walking the halls and campus in the fall of 2012. The school will have a separate building strictly for ninth graders where they will attend most of their classes together to help them transition into the high school. The cost of the yet-to-be-named high school is $100 million, funded by the state, a 2008 bond issue and the Public School Capital Outlay Council.
