LAS CRUCES - The State Bar of New Mexico has elected a Las Cruces attorney as its Board of Bar Commissioners president for 2011.
Hans William Voss, a Los Alamos native, maintains a general civil practice in Las Cruces and represents plaintiffs, businesses and governmental entities throughout the state, with experience in municipal law, economic development, water law, natural resources law, land use law and environmental law.
Voss graduated with his law degree from the University of New Mexico in 1998 after earning his master's and bachelor's degrees in economics. He is a participant in the American Bar Association's Tort, Trial and Insurance Practice Section's Leadership Academy and is also the president of the State Bar Foundation, a commissioner on the Access to Justice Committee, vice chair of the ABA Government Law Section, and a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
Chief Justice of the New Mexico Supreme Court Charles W. Daniels administered the oath of office Dec. 6 in the Supreme Court Chambers in Santa Fe.
The 22-member governing board of the State Bar develops policies, procedures and regulations; monitors financial performance, programs and services; and serves as advocates for the State Bar.
