LAS CRUCES - Two Las Cruces sex offenders and three men accused of killing Do a Ana County residents are being sought by the U.S. Marshals Service in New Mexico.

As part of a new initiative to capture some of the most wanted fugitives in the state, the New Mexico's Most Wanted program is targeting seven sexual offenders, eight gang members and 11 violent fugitives at the local, state and federal levels.

•Jose Acevedo, 74, is charged with failing to appear for sentencing after being convicted by jury of criminal sexual penetration, kidnapping and tampering with evidence. Born in Cuba, Acevedo is 5-feet 11-inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. Acevedo was arrested in 2008 after raping a 32-year-old female as she worked after closing hours at his restaurant, La Barca. Acevedo demanded sex, threatening to harm the woman and her children, or have her deported, if she did not comply.

•Oswaldo Corral, 32, has been named as a suspect both in a Nov. 15, 2008, shooting in the parking lot of Ten Pin Alley bowling lanes that critically wounded a man, and the robbery and murder, two days later, of 30-year-old Steven Apodaca in of Mesilla Park. Corral was born in Mexico and is 5-feet 8-inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has tattoos on his hands, left arm, right arm and neck, is an affiliated gang member and was last seen driving a black four-door car. aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon. Corral may be armed and is considered to be dangerous.

•Alfredo Luis Davila, 24, is charged with intentional child abuse resulting in death after 6-month-old Daniel Medina, the grandson of his 40-year-old wife, died March 6, 2009. Medina was killed due to blunt force trauma to the head and an autopsy also revealed internal injuries consistent with the baby being shaken - bleeding in two spots in his brain and bleeding in his eyes and eye sheaths. Davila is Hispanic, 5-feet 11-inches tall and weighs about 210 pounds. Davila was born in Texas and has scars on his back and right cheek and tattoos on his left arm and his right shoulder.

•Eduardo Garcia Estrada, 37, is charged with murder. Estrada is believed to have kidnapped, tried to rape, and then battered to death 31-year-old Emely Corina Howard-Ianni before leaving her body on private property near N.M. Highway 213, where she was found Nov. 6, 2006. He is 5-feet 3-inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. He has scars on his left hand and arm. He was last seen in El Paso driving a green 2000 Mazda Protege with Texas license plates, a vehicle that was later recovered in Juárez, where he is believed to be living.

•Armando Orta, 46, a former Las Cruces landscaping business-owner who has been featured on "America's Most Wanted," is charged with criminal sexual penetration of a minor. Orta is alleged to have molested a 12-year-old female relative at least once a week over five years starting around October 2000. Orta was born in New Mexico and has a scar on his upper right arm. He is 6-feet tall and weighs 200 pounds, speaks fluent English and Spanish, and could be in Las Cruces, Albuquerque or Mexico, authorities say.
