LAS CRUCES - As part of National Blood Donor month, United Blood Services, the Las Cruces Fire Department and Lowe's Home Improvement are having a blood drive today from noon to 3 p.m. at United Blood Services, 1200 Commerce Drive.
Each person who donates blood will receive a smoke detector donated by Lowe's, giving each exchange the potential to "save a life twice" - the gift of blood the donor gives and the gift of the smoke detector the donor will receive.
The LCFD will also be displaying their equipment and assisting UBS in getting the message out about the need for blood donations locally.
