The following indictments were returned by a Do a Ana County grand jury Dec. 21:

•Sergio Lorenzo Palomares Alonso, 47, Calle Pedro Baranda #6852, Juárez, Mexico, is charged with felony marijuana distribution on Dec. 9. Alonso was stopped entering the country allegedly carrying 44 pounds of marijuana and is being held under federal custody, according to court documents.

•Toni Lynn Dodd, 38, 406 Villamora, Las Cruces, is charged with intentional child abuse, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (a table leg), battery and possession of drug paraphernalia on Dec. 5.

•Orlando Estrada, 19, 1015 Luna, Las Cruces, is charged with six counts of vehicle burglary, five counts of larceny and theft of a credit card on Dec. 5. Estrada was free on conditional release pending trial for felony tampering with evidence charges when he was allegedly seen burglarizing numerous cars on the same street, according to court documents.

•Marcos Martin "Dreamer" Hernandez, 28, 436 Juniper, Las Cruces, is charged with non-residential burglary, larceny and criminal property damage on June 5. Hernandez allegedly burglarized a church while pending trial on two felony charges of vehicle burglary and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to court documents.

•Daniel Estrada Jurado, 24, 6515 Fox Road, Space 5, Las Cruces, is charged with false imprisonment, aggravated battery against a household member causing great bodily harm and battery against

a household member on Dec. 8. Jurado, a Mexican citizen, was pending trial for domestic violence when he allegedly strangled his girlfriend with an electrical cord, according to court documents.

•Carey B. McNab, 18, 1200 Rusty Lane, Las Cruces, is charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon (a pair of scissors and a vehicle) on Oct. 31. He and Tomas Aguilera, 21, 1703 Seldon Ave., Las Cruces, who is separately charged with two counts of threatening a witness, are both charged with tampering with evidence on Nov. 2. McNab and a co-defendant allegedly stabbed a woman, drove into another woman, hid the car and threatened their victims' lives after they called the police, according to court documents.

•Pasqual "Puppy" Ortiz, 105 Comerciantes #201, Santa Teresa, N.M., is charged with breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest on Dec. 7. Ortiz is not in the country legally and has been convicted of criminal mischief, felony escape from custody, felony drug possession, false identity, illegal re-entry, burglary and evading arrest in El Paso, according to court documents.

•Javier Padilla, 30, 2882 Glass Road, Mesilla, is charged with aggravated drunken driving (three prior convictions), no insurance, possession of an open container of alcohol and battery on Nov. 13.

•Ruben R. Reyes, 1751 W. Hadley, Space 132, Las Cruces, is charged with kidnapping, negligent child abuse, battery against a household member and interference with communications on Dec. 4. Reyes was on probation for domestic violence at the time, according to court documents.

•Justin Ruebush, 20, 1505 La Fonda Apt. 10 or 1002 Branson Ave. #4, Las Cruces, and Jessie "Knowledge" Cutbirth, 2045 Hixon, Las Cruces, are charged with conspiracy to commit non-residential burglary, possession of burglary tools, attempted non-residential burglary and criminal property damage on Dec. 6.

•Andres A. Tarin Jr., 47, 903 E. Utah, Las Cruces, is charged with non-residential burglary and criminal property damage on Oct. 31. Tarin was convicted of residential burglary in 2000 and failed to complete probation, according to court documents.
