LAS CRUCES - Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is again offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of a man who allegedly threatened a woman with an electric saw last September.
Oscar Bonilla Rodriguez, 26, of the 100 block of Sierra Vista in Sunland Park, reportedly threatened to kill his girlfriend and her four children with a battery operated rotary trim saw on Sept. 25 at the woman's home on Pond Wood Road in Anthony, N.M. Doña Ana sheriff's investigators allege that Rodriguez made the threats after kicking in a bedroom door where the woman and her children, ranging in age from 1 to 12, were hiding.
District Court Judge Stephen Bridgforth has issued an arrest warrant charging Rodriguez with felony child abuse, aggravated assault against a household member and misdemeanor battery against a household member. The nationwide warrant carries a $20,000 cash-only bond.
Rodriguez has family in Sunland Park and investigators believe he may still be evading arrest in the area of southern New Mexico or El Paso. He is 5-feet 11-inches tall and weighs 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Rodriguez you are asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip via text message to LCTIPS (528477). The Crime Stoppers number and text messaging services are operational 24 hours a day and you do not have to give your name to collect a reward.
