LAS CRUCES - The Doña Ana County Humane Society has $20,000 in grant money available to Doña Ana County nonprofit animal welfare organizations whose mission is to better the lives of animals, protect animals from abuse and/or provide community education related to this issue.

All or one priority needs to be in the group's mission statement. Application deadline is April 15.

DACHS will hold a grant workshop from 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 3 at the DACHS/SNAP office, 2405 W. Picacho Ave., Suite 103. The workshop will help nonprofits learn to navigate the grant application process; not just for this particular grant but for grants in general.
