Las Cruces police Officer Robert Elrick helps investigate a two-truck collision Thursday at University Avenue and Solano Drive. According to Officer Jimmie Brown, the white Ford Ranger was traveling west on University and turned left on Solano as the driver of the red Dodge Ram was going east on University. As the red pickup truck "was going eastbound, the impact (with the other truck) caused it to change direction and it went into the pole," said Brown. Stephanie Alexander, the driver of the white Ford Ranger said the driver of the other truck sped up when the light turned yellow. I guess he didn t see me and he slammed into me, she said. The driver of the red truck was transported to Memorial Medical Center because he was "a little bit shaken up," Brown said.
