LAS CRUCES - The annual Tip-A-Cop benefit for New Mexico Special Olympics will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Jan. 28 at both Applebee's Neighborhood Bar and Grill restaurants in Las Cruces.

Las Cruces police officers will be serving food, filling drinks and collecting donations for Special Olympics at the Applebee's restaurant at 2501 E. Lohman Ave.

Do-a Ana Sheriff's Office deputies and officers from other area law-enforcement agencies will be doing the same at the Applebee's at 1601 Hickory Loop.

Several local Special Olympics athletes also will be on hand during the evening to wait tables and help answer questions about Special Olympics.
