LAS CRUCES - The "Putting New Mexicans First" tour, featuring House Minority Leader Rep. Tom Taylor, R-Farmington, stops at the Las Cruces Association of Realtors Conference Room, 150 E. Idaho, at 6 p.m. today.

Newly elected Reps. Terry McMillan and Rick Little will join Taylor is discussing the Republicans' perspective on the upcoming legislative session, and answering questions. The Legislature convenes Jan. 18 for a 60-day session, where lawmakers will be confronted with a large budget deficit.

"This is a pivotal time in the history of New Mexico, and it's important we take the time to listen to our neighbors," Taylor said. "The people of New Mexico want more common sense at the Roundhouse and they expect more responsibility in how we spend the taxpayers' dollars."

The tour is stopping in the districts of 11 new Republican members who were elected in November. All events are open to the public.
