LAS CRUCES - Do a Ana County commissioners will hear a presentation today about outages that have plagued the 911 call center recently.

In addition, county commissioners will appoint members to various panels and committees. They'll also select two members to conduct annual jail inspections.

Also, commissioners will make a recommendation about who should be selected to fill the seat of former state Sen. Dianna Duran, R-Tularosa. Duran became secretary of state on Jan. 1, vacating her seat, which covers a small portion of Do a Ana County.

The commission and other county elected officials will vote on a new representative to the New Mexico Association of Counties. The post was previously held by Oscar Vásquez-Butler, who left office Dec. 31.

The meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the Do a Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd., Las Cruces.
