Font ResizeLAS CRUCES - Russell Allen, 45, of Las Cruces was unanimously elected chairman of the Do a Ana Republican Party during the party's Biennial Convention on Saturday at the Mesilla Valley Christian School.
Do a Ana Republicans elected new executive officers, county central committee members and state central committee members that will serve two-year terms. Others elected were Sid Brannon, first vice chair; Kathy Alberson, second vice chair; Lisa Tillery, secretary and Pat Morrison, treasurer.
Allen said is devoted to continuing and growing Republican electoral success in Do a Ana County and the state of New Mexico. He cites his commitment to promoting Republican outreach, candidates, and most importantly, values.
"The recent Republican victories in Do a Ana and New Mexico reflect the successful development of relationships with voters in this past 2010 election, but there is still more work to be done," Allen said.
"The Do a Ana Republican Party will seek out and support exceptional candidates that will represent strong local community values; such as, hard work, accountability and personal integrity.
Allen is vice president of operations at Allen Theatres Inc., based in Las Cruces. He serves on the Association of Commerce and Industry board of directors and was a Leadership New Mexico board member and 2010-2011 class curriculum committee chairman. Allen and his wife, Diana, have been married for 21 years and have four children.
