LAS CRUCES - The year will be starting out on a high note for the Mayfield High School Trojan Marching Band.
The band, which has traveled in recent years to New York and China, will be marching in London's New Year's Day Parade on Saturday.
Under the direction of Neil Swapp, the Trojan Marching Band will join more than 8,000 others from around the globe for the prestigious 25th anniversary parade, which is expected to be viewed by around 500,000 people on the parade route and tens of millions around the world, via TV.
The band reports a broadcast of the London parade will be shown live at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, on the CW, Comcast channel 14.
