•Free tax preparation training will be offered by AARP for volunteers starting Monday. Training will last for one week. All volunteers will be required to pass a written test in order to qualify as tax preparers. Volunteers are also needed to be greeters and translators. Tuesday
•Instructor Carol Koenig will teach a Harvest Cooking Class from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Road. The cost of the class is $30 per person, and $25 for members of the Friends of the FRHM. Info: (575) 522-4100 or nmfarmandranchmuseum.org.
•As part of the two-month long Jam Session in Las Cruces exhibit, the Do a Ana Arts Council and the Rio Grande Theatre will present a seven-week series of classic jazz-themed films from the Hollywood vaults on Tuesdays. Each screening is free to the public and is preceded by a mini-jazz concert by a different group each week. Start time is 5:30 p.m. for concert, 7 p.m. for screening. •Family game night will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Roadrunner Room at Branigan Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave. Come to the library and enjoy an evening of free family fun playing some great games.
