The following indictments were returned March 17 by a Do-a Ana County grand jury:
• Daniel Erasmo Arredondo, 23, 820 San Andres, Anthony, N.M., or 26 Estancia #2, Vado, N.M., charged with felony cocaine possession, resisting arrest and harassment on Feb. 26. Arredondo was on probation for domestic violence when he allegedly knocked on and looked into the windows of a woman's home for an hour and wouldn't leave, according to court documents.
• David James Benavidez, 33, 9 Lee Berry Lane, Las Cruces, charged with armed robbery, two counts conspiracy to commit armed robbery, six counts aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, attempted armed robbery and tampering with evidence on Feb. 28. He, 16-year-old Andrew Jerome Maldonado and 18-year-olds Brianna Jordan and Seth Benavidez allegedly tried to hold up a Pizza Hut on El Paseo, but were unsuccessful, then went to Dickey's Barbecue Pit on South Valley Drive and allegedly threatened employees and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
• Joshua Chavarria, 20, 1310 Branding Iron Circle, Las Cruces, charged with felony cocaine possession, felony morphine possession, tampering with evidence and possession of more than an ounce of marijuana on Feb. 11.
• Jose Vidal Contreras, 38, 52 Brady, Vado, N.M., or 1121 Monroe, Anthony, N.M., charged with felony cocaine possession, aggravated drunken driving (three prior convictions), reckless driving, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, no
• Amy Dawn Eaton, 35, 1645 Colorado Ave. or 4413 Sugarsand Trail, Las Cruces, charged with larceny (more than $500) of a video game system, accessories, games and a laptop on March 6. Eaton, who is on probation, allegedly admitted to stealing the items from her mother and selling them for drugs.
• Renea L. Gutierrez, 41, 3820 Northview Ave. or 1415 Georgianna Court, Las Cruces, charged with residential burglary and larceny (more than $250) of jewelry, a camera, a pot and cash on Dec. 1, 2010.
• Lisa Jones, 28, 1024 Wooten Drive, Las Cruces, charged with battery on a health-care worker on Dec. 16, 2010. Jones, an NMSU student, was allegedly extremely combative, spitting and attempting to bite emergency personnel who were trying to tend to her, according to court documents. At one point, she bit a health care worker and wouldn't let go until others intervened, court documents state.
• Jimmy Kolenovski, 55, 2100 N. 17th St., Las Cruces, charged with four counts of criminal sexual penetration of a girl younger than 13 between March 10 and Dec. 15, 2010.
• Kevin Melendrez, 22, 5249 Wren Apt. #207, El Paso, charged with felony cocaine possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, no insurance and failure to have operating tail lights on Feb. 4.
• Jose Adrian Calderon Ramirez, 25, 527 E. Picacho, Las Cruces, charged with identity theft and two counts of forgery between Dec. 1 and 31, 2010.
• Iliana Rodriguez, 18, 234 Lisa Drive, Chaparral, N.M., charged with battery on an officer on Feb. 13. The Chaparral High School student allegedly repeatedly kicked the deputy who was attempting to arrest her, according to court documents.
• Crystal Serna, 23, 5915 Moonview Drive, Las Cruces, charged with embezzlement (more than $2,500) between Aug. 19 and Aug. 25, 2010. Serna allegedly embezzled more than $10,000 while employed as a district manager for Caliche's ice cream shop, according to court documents.
• Richard Suarez, 44, 1870 Deer Circle, Anthony, N.M., charged with felony heroin possession on Feb. 12. He has been convicted twice of drug-related offenses, according to court records.
• Jesus Martin Talamontes, 45, 441 E. Las Cruces Ave., Las Cruces, charged with negligent child abuse, aggravated battery against a household member causing great bodily harm and battery against a household member on Jan. 29. Talamontes was allegedly strangling and battering the victim as she drove, with her 9-year-old son in the vehicle, who called 911, according to court documents. His whereabouts are unknown.
• Francisco Javier Tarin, 51, 44 Tarin Road, Vado, N.M., charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (a shovel and a pickax), false imprisonment and aggravated battery on Feb. 5. Tarin allegedly assaulted his nephew with a shovel and a pickax and then held him against his will while continuing to beat on him, according to court documents.
• Ronnie Michael Tucker, 61, 4411 Superstition, Las Cruces, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (a knife) on Feb. 9.
• Luis Roberto Mayorga Villanueva, 37, Calle Vista Baj, Juárez, Mexico, charged with distribution of more than 100 pounds of marijuana on Feb. 28. He allegedly drove through the Santa Teresa Port of Entry in a pickup truck with a false bed containing 312 pounds of marijuana in 290 bundles, according to court documents. Villanueva is being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

• Sergio Vaquera Ayala, 27, 444 Marquez, Anthony, N.M., charged with felony methamphetamine possession and possession of drug paraphernalia (a scale) on Aug. 24, 2010.
• Shanna Bellfon, 31, 14104 N. N.M. 185, Las Cruces, charged with identity theft, forgery and concealing identity on Dec. 28, 2010. Bellfon allegedly used her cousin's identity to get out of some traffic tickets, according to court documents.
• Jose Ignacio Caro, 26, 425 E. Plaza, Mesquite, N.M., charged with cocaine trafficking (second offense) and resisting arrest on Dec. 8, 2010. Caro faces 18 mandatory years in prison if convicted, according to court documents.
• Jesus Flores, 33, 1020 Van Buren, Anthony, N.M., charged with false imprisonment and battery against a household member on Jan. 21. Flores allegedly became upset because his girlfriend didn't come home when expected, then grabbed her by the hair and held her down as he hit her in the face, according to court documents.
• Victor Manuel Garcia, 20, 25 Camargo Street, Space 5, Anthony, N.M., charged with intentional child abuse, false imprisonment, two counts of battery against a household member and interference with communications on Jan. 21.
• Austin Peterson, 27, 4345 Senna Drive, Las Cruces, charged with felony cocaine possession and aggravated drunken driving on Jan. 30.
