LAS CRUCES - The Jeffrey E. and Mary T. Brandon Distinguished Lecture Series in Health Disparities will continue at 7 p.m. April 6. Catherine Torres, cabinet secretary for the New Mexico Department of Health, will be the keynote speaker. The lecture will be in the CHSS Annex, 101a.

Before her appointment, Torres was employed by Rio Grande Medical Group, a Las Cruces clinic.

Torres spent most of her career as a doctor working at First Step Center, a women's and children's health clinic that serves Do a Ana County's low-income population.
