LAS CRUCES - The city of Las Cruces is offering Pickleball at Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave., every Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. for people of all ages.

Pickleball is a racquet sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis and is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is lower than most other racquet sports allowing for faster play. The game is played with a hard paddle and a Wiffle ball, making the technique required for Pickleball different than other sports.

No pre-registration is required and play will be based on a drop-in basis. The cost to play is $2 per player, and paddles can be rented for $1.
