Workers with Rio Grande Natural Gas work to fix a gas line leak Tuesday that shut down the intersection of Triviz Drive and Spruce Avenue.

LAS CRUCES - A gas line break at the intersection of Triviz and Spruce resulted in road closures Tuesday afternoon as crews worked to repair the damage.

The line was breached just before noon when a crew was boring a communications line under the roadway, said Dan Trujillo, spokesman for the Las Cruces Police Department.

Traffic on northbound Triviz was detoured onto McClane Road, to Wingate Road back to Spruce. Southbound Triviz traffic was detoured at Poplar Avenue, to Evelyn Street back to Spruce. No Telshor Boulevard traffic was allowed to turn onto Spruce during the closure.
