LAS CRUCES - The family of a missing 13-year-old Alamogordo girl is asking for the public's help in locating the Chaparral Middle School student.
The girl's grandmother, Margarita "Margie" Kicklighter, said Dejanelle "Deja" Lazo was last seen after being dropped off at Chaparral Middle School around 7:45 a.m. Jan. 11. She was wearing blue jeans and a green long-sleeve top with a white neckline and carrying a maroon backpack.
Lazo is 5-feet, 1-inch tall, weighs about 130 pounds and has dark brown eyes and dark brown, shoulder-length hair, usually worn down and in a ponytail or parted to the side. Her grandmother said she "looks a lot older" though, and has run away twice before, though never for this long.
"I love her very much," Kicklighter said. "I want her to come home. I forgive her."
Anyone with information of the whereabouts of Dejanelle "Deja" Lazo should contact ADPS at (575) 439-4300, Crime Stoppers at (575) 437-2000, or relatives of Lazo's at (575) 571-8816 or (575) 551-6128.
