LAS CRUCES - Police are looking for two men they say tried to rob a woman making an after-hours bank deposit Friday night.
Officers were called to Citizens Bank, 505 S. Main St., around 6:40 p.m. where a female employee reported being assaulted by two men trying to steal the cash she had just deposited, the Las Cruces Police Department said Monday.
The suspects allegedly threw the woman to the ground but she escaped serious injury.
Detectives say the woman had just finished making the deposit when the first man ran up and pushed her to the ground, then ordered the second suspect to grab her deposit. The second man also allegedly pushed her to the ground but was unable to steal the already-secured depository.
The first suspect was described as wearing blue jeans and a navy blue hoodie with white stripes on its sleeves and a white emblem on the front. The second was described as wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a black ski mask.
The two men were last seen running eastbound from the bank toward Campo Street.
Anyone with information on the identity of the two suspects is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip via text message to LCTIPS (528477).
