Elizabeth Montoya holds her coveted tickets Friday morning after waiting since 5:30 p.m. Thursday to be the first in line to get row 1 seats to the George Strait, Reba McEntire and Lee Ann Womack concert. "Because it's George Strait!" exclaimed the Las Cruces fan as to why she spent the night in her car waiting for the Pan Am box office to open. "Only for George."

LAS CRUCES - Tickets for the upcoming George Strait and Reba McEntire show at New Mexico State University's Pan American Center went on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday. Fewer than six hours later, only 150 tickets - all singles - remained, according to Bobbie Welch, the venue's booking

and marketing director.

Country superstars Strait and McEntire, who have each performed at the Pan Am multiple times, will co-headline a March 25 show at the venue. Lee Ann Womack will open.

The artists' fan club members had first pick of tickets earlier this week and laid claim to about 4,000 of them, Welch said. By the time tickets went on sale to the general public Friday morning, hundreds were lined up outside of the Pan Am Center box office. The line began forming around 4 a.m. and some fans even camped out in their cars to secure a place in the front of the line.

Strait has played the Pan Am 10 times since 1990, and his February 2007 performance set the Pan Am's box office record for ticket revenue. McEntire has performed there six times since 1989. Her most recent show was in October 2007.

Grab one of the remaining tickets at $74 and $94, plus service charges, at the Pan Am Center Ticket Office, at Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and (800) 745-3000. For ticket information, call (575) 646-1420.
