LAS CRUCES -- A Mayfield High School class ring lost more than 13 years ago was returned to its owner, Wayne Stephens, this week.

Jo Anne Rivera found the ring and contacted the Sun-News to help find the owner. The gold ring was from Mayfield's graduating class of 1990 and was engraved with the name "Wayne Stephens."

Stephens, who now lives in Spring, Texas, said he attended his high school reunion this year and had about 20 messages on his Facebook page from reacquainted classmates, alerting him to contact the newspaper and claim the high school memento.

The ring was mailed Thursday to Stephens' home address.
