LAS CRUCES - A man convicted of his fourth drunken driving offense was ordered to begin serving a six-month sentence Monday.

Orlando Ray Sedillo, 41, of Truth or Consequences was arrested and charged with aggravated drunken driving, speeding and driving with a suspended license on New Year's Day, 2010. He was released the same day on bond.

Third Judicial District Court Judge Lisa Schultz sentenced Sedillo to 2 1/2 years in prison and $6,000 in fines, but suspended all but the mandatory minimum sentence and $700 in fines, after which he will serve five years on supervised probation, according to a judgment filed Dec. 23. Sedillo was also ordered to complete 100 hours community service, screening and counseling and a lifetime of driving with an ignition interlock device.
