LAS CRUCES - Doña Ana sheriff's deputies and New Mexico State Police nabbed three men and three juveniles from Las Cruces they say were in the act of spray painting a trailer in Anthony, N.M.

Authorities did not say if the graffiti incident was gang-related or what initially tipped them off to the trailer.

Jesus Perez, 20, of the 700 block of Taylor Road, and Moises Gallardo, 18, of the 5600 block of Snow Road, were arrested and charged with unauthorized graffiti and criminal trespassing and were booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center with $1,000 surety bonds. Perez was also cited for having less than an ounce of marijuana.

A third adult was also arrested and charged, but his name has yet to be made public.

Three teens - two boys and one girl - were also detained, criminally cited and released to their parents: Juan Amezquita, 15, of the 1900 block of Solano; Issak Avalos, 17, of the 1400 block of Alamo Street; and Ruth Amezquita, 16, of the 700 block of Taylor Road, were charged with criminal trespassing. The two boys were charged with unauthorized graffiti, and Avalos was also cited for having less than an ounce of marijuana, authorities said.

The officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of O'Hara Road in Anthony, N.M., at about 5 p.m. Wednesday and reportedly saw the six behind the trailer, which appeared to have been freshly painted. Numerous cans of spray paint were found scattered nearby, according to the sheriff's office.
