LAS CRUCES - The Las Cruces Rescue Mission, which has held a Christmas Day toy giveaway for area children since 1985, is in need of toys and gifts for boys and girls ages 7 to 12 and for teenagers.

There are usually plenty of toys for younger children, but people tend to forget the older children, organizers said. Warm winter coats are also needed. Donations can be dropped off at the rescue mission, 1050 W. Amador.

Volunteers are needed for the Christmas Day event. For more information, call Linda Morgan at 522-0203. And, drivers are needed to deliver Christmas meals between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. If you are interested, call the mission at 523-7727.

Anyone in need of a delicious Christmas meal and cheer is invited to come to the Rescue Mission between noon and 1:30 p.m. Christmas Day.
