The following indictments were returned by a Do a Ana County grand jury Dec. 16:

•Willie L. Amador, 41, 301 Placitas, Hatch, N.M., is charged with two counts of cocaine distribution on Oct. 12 and Nov. 15.

•Judith Annette Barela, 32, 5352 Melody Lane, Space A, or 2940 Do a Ana Road, Space 8, Las Cruces, a convicted felon, is charged with two counts of felony heroin trafficking on Nov. 24 and 25, 2009.

•Edgar Carrillo, 20, 398 Placitas St., Hatch, N.M., a convicted drug trafficker, is charged with two counts of felony marijuana trafficking on Oct. 7 and 20. Carrillo is pending charges of criminal sexual penetration, criminal sexual contact and kidnapping in 3rd Judicial District Court.

•Nathan O. Cooper, 37, 2324 Joshua Louis, El Paso, is charged with drunken driving (three prior convictions), speeding and not having his driver's license in his possession on July 4. Cooper allegedly had his two children in the car, according to court documents.

•Martin Dimas, 47, 893 Third St., Las Cruces, is charged with negligent child abuse on Nov. 15. Dimas, a violent felon, and his 5-year-old son tested positive for methamphetamine, according to court documents.

•Nicolas "Nick Nick" Esparza, 25, 600 Belvidere St., Apt. 7B, El Paso, or 272 Posey, Sunland Park, N.M., an alleged gang member, is charged with four counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon (a vehicle) and criminal property damage on Oct. 11.

25, 245 Turquoise or 317 or 4970 Holsome Road, Las Cruces, is charged with three counts of cocaine trafficking on May 19, May 21 and June 3.

•Clarence Dee Garner, 30, 2108 Bellamah, Las Cruces, a convicted drug trafficker, is charged with felony cocaine trafficking and conspiracy on Aug. 23.

•Jose Lionel Gonzales, 31, 123 Skylight, and Jose Perez Jr., 33, 5842 Johanson, El Paso, is charged with felony methamphetamine trafficking (3 pounds) and conspiracy on Nov. 27. Gonzales is also charged with felony cocaine possession

•Antonio Manuel Guerra, 27, 7837 Ledbetter, Vinton, Texas, is charged with felony cocaine trafficking and conspiracy on July 16. Co-defendant Jose Martinez, 30, 7812 Ledbetter, Vinton, Texas, a convicted drug trafficker, is charged with three counts of cocaine trafficking and conspiracy on June 23 and 29 and July 16.

•Angelita Hernandez, 30, Carlos Sanchez, 28, and Juan Carlos Sanchez, 26, 9520 Polaris St., Las Cruces, are charged with residential burglary, conspiracy and larceny on Nov. 21. Juan Carlos Sanchez is also charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.

•Joe Valdez Herrera, 55, 1908 E. Idaho, Las Cruces, is charged with aggravated drunken driving (five prior convictions), driving with a suspended license, no insurance, expired registration, failure to exercise due care and possession of an open container of alcohol on Oct. 15. Herrera, who was on probation for his last DWI at the time of these charges, had a blood-alcohol concentration of .35, according to court documents.

•Daniel V. Holguin, 61, 1108 Campesino or 1527 Foster, Apt. 25, Las Cruces, is charged with four counts of cocaine trafficking (second offense) and four counts of conspiracy on Sept. 16, 22 and 24.

•Kimberly Joyce James, 21, 1092 Fran Drive, Las Cruces, is charged with two counts of felony cocaine trafficking on May 21 and July 20.

•David M. Lanning, 27, 1813 Bellamah, Las Cruces, is charged with negligent child abuse on Dec. 2. His home was allegedly filled with animal feces and urine and he allegedly admitted to leaving his young daughter alone with a man he had once found her around with her panties down, according to court documents.

•Ernest Richard Lucero, 43, 9637 Longhorn or 1200 W. Picacho #2, Las Cruces, a convicted drug trafficker, is charged with distribution of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on March 13.

•Adan Monterosa Mora, 64, San Miguel, N.M., is charged with aggravated drunken driving (four prior convictions), possession of an open container of alcohol, driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance on Sept. 10.

•Merlinda Nu ez, 38, 1900 N. Solano, Apt. 124, is charged with two counts of cocaine trafficking and two counts of conspiracy on July 6 and 28. She was on conditional release pending a child abuse charge at the time, according to court records.

•Maribel Perez, 30, 316 Calle al Rumbo, Juan Luis Perez, 39, 800 McAnally, and Fernando Navarrette, 129 Salt Bush, Berino, N.M., are charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and conspiracy on Oct. 3. The defendants allegedly went to the victims' home and started a fight using knives, bats, and a car, according to court documents.

•Steven Ponce, 22, 5745 Michael P. Anderson, El Paso, is charged with felony cocaine trafficking and distribution of marijuana on May 6.

•Ricardo Sotelo, 26, 113 Redwood, Sunland Park, N.M., an alleged gang member, is charged with battery on a detention officer on Dec. 2. Sotelo, who has an extremely violent criminal history, allegedly tried to poke a guard's eyes out, according to court documents.

•Cody James Theriault, 23, 301 S. Motel Blvd., Space 30, Las Cruces, a violent convicted felon, is charged with battery on a detention officer on Oct. 19.

•Herman "Big H" Torres, 43, 1855 Picacho Ave., Las Cruces, a convicted methamphetamine trafficker, is charged with two counts felony cocaine trafficking, two counts conspiracy, distribution of Xanax and distribution of Flexeril between Feb. 3 and April 15.

•Rena Mae Washington, is charged with felony cocaine trafficking and conspiracy on July 28

•Leslie Celeste Williams, 45, 1410 W. Wyoming St. or 1955 Telshor Blvd., Apt. 53, Las Cruces, is charged with two counts of cocaine trafficking and two counts of conspiracy on July 7 and 27.

An indictment is only an accusation. All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
