LAS CRUCES -- A 31-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly molesting an 8-year-old girl in his family on several occasions.

Jason Michael Plaatje was charged with five counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor -- all felonies.

The girl disclosed some of the details of the relationship to another family member who contacted authorities on Wednesday.

After being interviewed by detectives that day, Plaatje was arrested and booked into the Do-a Ana County Detention Center with a $25,000 bond.
