LAS CRUCES - A woman wanted on a charge of methamphetamine trafficking remains in jail after police reportedly found her messing with someone's potential pecan harvest.
Carrie Howell, 21, was arrested after police responded to report from an area business that a white female with pink hair might be throwing pecans at passing cars the afternoon of Dec. 8, according to the Las Cruces Police Department.
An officer arrived at South Main Street to discover Howell allegedly gathering pecans, the report stated. Checking her identity, the officer discovered a warrant for felony trafficking, which was issued a week before with a $20,000 surety bond set by Las Cruces Magistrate Court Judge Kent Wingenroth.
Howell remained at the Do-a Ana County Detention Center on Wednesday, according to jail staff.
