LAS CRUCES - The New Mexico Educational Retirement Board (ERB) will vote Friday on a final set of recommendations regarding proposed changes to benefit plans for New Mexico public education employees.

The proposed draft would require public education employees to contribute an extra 0.5 percent of their total salary, per paycheck, to the retirement fund and would delay retirement eligibility by as much as 10 years for some.

The ERB will meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Central New Mexico Community College's (CNM) Smith Brasher Hall, 717 University Blvd. SE in Albuquerque. The board will also receive additional public comments, and will hold a public comment session 4 p.m. Wednesday at the same location.

All Board meeting schedules, agenda items, and information on the plan design change proposals can be viewed on the NMERB's website at www.nmerb.org.
