Rincon man not same as child porn suspect

LAS CRUCES - Hijinio "Gino" Padilla Hinojos, 53, of Rincon would like his neighbors and colleagues to know that he's not a criminal.

Hinojos, an agricultural worker and lifelong Rincon resident, shares almost the same name and age as an Elephant Butte man - Henio M. "Gene" Hinojos, 51, - who the U.S. Attorney's Office recently announced had been indicted on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.

That case is ongoing in federal court in Las Cruces. Hinojos - the one in Rincon, 50 miles from Elephant Butte - has nothing to do with it.

An indictment or criminal complaint is only an accusation. All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
