The Booker T. Washington Elementary School choir sings "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" on Friday in the Mesilla Plaza as the Christmas tree lights sparkle behind them. They were invited to sing Christmas carols for the annual Mesilla Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Mesilla, with Friday night's tree lighting illuminating the Plaza.

A new 17-foot tree was donated by Mark Bolt and the Old Mesilla Association, and students from Mesilla Elementary School provided a holiday touch by decorating the ornaments.

To make the evening complete, several businesses and restaurants stayed open later to accommodate visitors and shoppers.
