LAS CRUCES - City Councilor Gill Sorg, District 5, will debut a new initiative this weekend aimed at increasing communication with his constituents, according to a news release.

Through his "Councilor on the Corner" initiative, Sorg will set up at a high foot traffic area in his district where he can meet one on one with residents.

"I very much want to hear from the people I represent in District 5," Sorg said. "Yet I know how busy they are. They can't always make neighborhood meetings, so rather than coming to me, I'm reaching out to them by setting up at a place where people can stop by and tell me what's on their mind."

From 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sorg will set up at Walgreens, 3100 N. Main St. at the Triviz Drive intersection.
