•"The Beauty of Mathematics" is the featured topic for the Academy For Learning in Retirement lecture series will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday March 8 and Thursday March 10 at the Good Samaritan Society, Las Cruces Village Auditorium, 3011 Buena Vida Circle. Patrick Morandi and David Pengelley, professors of mathematics at NMSU, will discuss a wide variety of mathematical principles and applications. •The Las Cruces Museum of Natural History will host Dr. Mack Sewell, state epidemiologist for the New Mexico Department of Health, for a free public lecture on his work at 6 p.m. Thursday March 10 in Foster Hall 231, NMSU campus. The lecture is in conjunction with the new Disease Detectives exhibit at the Las Cruces Museum of Natural History. The exhibit will be featured through June 5. The exhibit is free.
