LAS CRUCES - An unidentified motorcyclist in his 20s was airlifted to an El Paso hospital Monday morning after running a stop sign and colliding with a vehicle at around 9 a.m., according to Las Cruces police.
The crash, at the corner of Espina and Hadley, snarled the morning commute. Police spokesman Dan Trujillo said the motorcyclist was airlifted as a precaution because he was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, Trujillo said.
Police have not yet released the names of those involved. The investigation is ongoing and charges are expected, Trujillo said.
No further information was immediately available.
